Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Structured, evidence-based treatment for substance use that fits around work, school, and family, without a residential stay.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program

Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a flexible, highly structured way to treat a substance use disorder while you keep up with daily life. It is designed for people who do not need 24-hour supervision but still benefit from consistent, evidence-based care.

IOP gives you a safe, supportive place to engage in therapy, build coping skills, and lay a strong foundation for lasting recovery.

What IOP includes

IOP combines individual counseling, group therapy, and educational workshops, all led by experienced, compassionate professionals. Each person receives a personalized treatment plan built around their own needs.

Our team draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care to help you address the root causes of addiction, build resilience, and stay sober.

What to expect

A flexible schedule

Get comprehensive support while keeping up with work, school, or family commitments.

Evidence-based therapies

Proven approaches, including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed care, and group therapy.

A personalized care plan

An individualized plan tailored to your needs, goals, and circumstances, so care stays targeted and effective.

Peer support

Group sessions build connection, accountability, and a support network that lasts beyond the program.

How IOP fits with the rest of your care

IOP usually begins after a drug and alcohol assessment shows it is the right level of care. If you need more daily structure, our Partial Hospitalization Program offers a higher level of support. After IOP, you can step down to lower-intensity outpatient care.

Common questions

How long is the intensive outpatient program?

Our IOP is designed to last 90 days, which gives you time to work toward your recovery goals at your own pace. When you complete it, you can step down to a lower level of care or outpatient support, so the transition feels steady.

Can I keep working or going to school during IOP?

Yes. IOP is built for people who do not need 24-hour supervision, so you can keep up with work, school, and family commitments while you are in treatment.

What therapies are used in IOP?

Our team uses proven approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care, delivered through individual counseling, group therapy, and educational workshops.

Is IOP covered by insurance?

We currently accept Medicare, Medicaid (Fee for Service), Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, and AARP. Call us and we will help you understand what your plan covers.
